Product Description

AEV’s Engine Skid Plate is now available as a direct-fit upgrade for the standard ZR2’s aluminum skid plate. This skid plate is standard equipment on the ZR2 Bison and as with the rest of the ZR2 Bison’s Hot Stamped Boron Steel Skid Plates, it is both lightweight and incredibly strong.

Compatible with both gas and diesel models, AEV’s Engine Skid Plate is the perfect solution for 2015+ Colorado Z71 owners looking to add some front end protection or ZR2 owners looking to upgrade their original equipment aluminum Engine Skid Plate. This can be used as a standalone skid plate and does not require any additional ZR2 Bison components for installation. E-coated for maximum corrosion resistance and is proudly made in the USA.

Hot Stamped Boron Steel (HSBS) is an ultra-high strength, press hardened steel and is most commonly used in automotive applications for passenger impact protection because it is lightweight with an extremely high yield strength (approximately 200,000 ksi vs. mild steel at 25,000 ksi). AEV chose this material for the Colorado ZR2 Bison’s skid plate package not just because of its high strength-to-weight ratio but also for its hardness and resistance to gouging.
