Once upon a time, there was an ideal vehicle for the wanderer, and it was not a little tent or a massive RV. The classic VW Westfalia was a compact design, perfect for the drive to work or a weekend at the lake. Pull in, pop the top and there was a home away from home, a base camp for swimming, surfing, hiking, or biking. For over 50 years, Volkswagen delivered, but like many products, the VW Westfalia gradually crept up in price and down in availability. And then it was gone (at least in the USA.)
About Ursa Minor
Years later, carrying similar principals to the VW Westfalia, Ursa Minor began building camper conversions for the Honda Element. Building on the success of this platform, Ursa Minor continued to further product development and began offering conversion tops for the ever-popular Jeep Wrangler JK and JL platforms as well as the Ford Transit Connect. Today Ursa Minor continues to push its product development boundaries by developing a conversion top for its latest platform, the 2021+ Ford Bronco.

Ursa Minor J30 Jeep JL Topper
Our original J30 Hard-Top for the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited® transformed the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited into a compact camper, and we now offer the same camping experience for the totally redesigned Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JL. While the easy operation, low weight, and fast setup remain the same as our JK series, this is a totally new camper explicitly designed for the new JL version.
The JL J30 will fit any 4-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited from 2018 - 2023 Model Year (JL Series) US and Rest of the World, any engine including diesel, 392 and 4XE, and any trim.
The J30 top is a complete replacement top. The original OEM Jeep hard or soft top can be sold or stored complete. While the top works if the OEM top is the power top with the sunroof version, it's probably better to go with just a regular basic hard top if you are ordering or purchasing a Jeep as a basic black hard top will have better resale value.
