Rare Find: Toyota FJ22 Blizzard Convertible w/Diesel Hilux Engine
This is the only known FJ22 Blizzard Diesel convertible in the USA and Canada from Japan where it was a Toyota factory dealer display car. These vehicles were all RHD, and they never made a LHD version. These vehicles were sold only into select countries. This is one of the very few that were kept in Japan, and it has all the original Japanese stickers on the exterior and interior.
The truck is titled in California, USA and has been since 1991. The vehicle was only driven occasionally around town. It is titled/registered as a 1969. VIN number is LD10001275 which matches the frame and body. The actual year is 1983.
These were only made for 2 years. This is a 1983 Toyota L series 4 cylinder diesel motor like in the un-killable Toyota Hilux diesel pickups. The transmission and transfer case shift nice, and overall it drives and tracks well and straight. The truck rides on brand new 33×12.5×15 BFG MTs ( ok they have like 500 miles on them ) on aftermarket steel wheels. It also has a swing-out rear tire carrier and fold-down front windshield, removable door frame top plates and removable rollbar, as well as ambulance style rear 1/3rd doors, a front brush guard, and a skidplate on t-case. The truck also features rare factory installed optional rear troop seats which fold up to the sides, a factory over-lander air intake for water fording, factory BJ type diesel fuel filter setup with Mercedes OM617 hand primer pump (better than Toyota version). It also has a super-rare Toyota factory original winch, which is very hard to come by for any FJ or Hilux, etc. in USA.
This FJ22 is listed on ebay at $22,500, or you can submit an offer.
